Level 2 Playworkhttp://www.newera.coop/training/childcare/level2/playworkOverviewhttp://www.newera.coop/training/childcare/level2/playwork#a1NVQs enable playworkers to move more easily from one job to another as well as move up to more responsible positions. They also help playworkers access a wider range of career options and routes to higher level qualifications.

No previous qualifications are necessary.

Mandatory Units

To achieve the NVQ Level 2 you will have to complete all six mandatory units. There are also 2 additional units that can be taken if you wish; however you do not need to take these to be awarded your NVQ.

  • PW1: Contribute to positive relationships in the play setting.
  • PW2: Support children and young people's play.
  • PW3: Contribute to the health and safety of the play environment.
  • A52: Contribute to the work of your team.
  • C35: Deal with accidents and emergencies.
  • C36: Support the protection of children from abuse.

Optional Units

  • PW4: Contribute to children and young peoples healthy eating and personal hygiene.
  • PW5: Escort and supervise children outside the play setting.
