Introduction

CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Early Years Foundation Stage Practice has been designed to update existing experience so that practitioners are competent to deliver the Government's Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • is designed for members of the workforce who work face to face with children from birth to 5 years, in regulated settings, in England.
  • is appropriate for practitioners who have a Level 3 qualification but wish to update their skills. Other practitioners at different levels may find it beneficial, but must understand that it is not a full level 3 qualification.
  • will provide learners with evidence of high quality assessed training which will be recognised throughout England.
  • has been developed collaboratively by the Primary National Strategy, the Children's Workforce Development Council and Awarding Bodies.

CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Early Years Foundation Stage Practice will form part of the Integrated Qualification Framework (IQF) and part of the testing and trialling of the QCA's 'Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF).

All three units are mandatory and learners must successfully complete each of them to achieve the qualification.
